Stock

Elegant antique Limoges porcelain soup bowls made by Vignaud in Limoges, France and retailed by the prestigious Philadelphia china importer Wright, Tyndale & Van Roden in the early 20th century.

Each bowl features delicate hand-painted floral bouquets in soft pinks, blues, yellows, and greens, framed by a classic gilt rim. The scattered floral design and graceful shape reflect the refined table settings popular during the Edwardian era, when Limoges porcelain was prized for both everyday elegance and formal entertaining.

These bowls are part of the same original service but feature two slightly different retailer backstamps, which was common when Limoges pieces were produced and imported in multiple batches over time.

Variations Available

  • This listing allows you to choose between two backstamp styles:

Why I Chose These

I’m always drawn to antique Limoges pieces that combine beautiful hand-painting with interesting history, and these bowls have both. Imported from Limoges and sold through a prominent Philadelphia retailer, they represent the kind of elegant tableware that would have been part of a large early-20th-century dinner service. They’re equally lovely displayed on open shelving or brought back to the table for special meals.

Ideas for Use

  • Elegant soup or pasta bowls
  • French-inspired table settings
  • Spring and floral tablescapes
  • Display in a china cabinet or plate wall
  • Perfect additions to an antique Limoges collection
